The Branch Director is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction for staff and volunteers in carrying out the association’s strategic, direction, goals, objectives, tactics and strategies as defined by the Association and the strategic plan through a variety of tactics within the service area. The Branch Director is responsible for the development and implementation of tactics, staff and volunteer development, and work effectively with members and community stakeholders.
FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
Actively participates in the Association’s Financial Development team to implement the Association’s fundraising strategies including the management of an Association event, development of sponsorship opportunities, developing and managing a portfolio of 10-15 major donors and provide support and team leadership to the Association’s annual support campaign in support of the Association’s cause driven initiatives.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
- Leads and directs program staff and volunteers in the development, implementation, and delivery of tactics related to YMCAs Areas of Impact.
- Evaluate programs for operational effectiveness including budgetary goals and impact.
- Recruit, lead, develop and evaluate staff and volunteers.
- Works across staff teams to provide leadership, guidance and direction to staff and volunteers in the development, implementation, and delivery of assigned impact initiatives.
- Works with the Administration Director and President/CEO to develop operating budget and forecast revenues that ensure growth and sustainability of the Association.
- Manages operating budget, controls expense and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure budgetary goals are achieved. Meets financial reporting deadlines and requirements as needed.
- Provides leadership to impact initiative efforts and participates in efforts to develop mission oriented strategies that meet the needs our members, our community, and our operating objectives. Continuously gather and evaluate community trends.
INNOVATION:
- Works with the Operations Director and President/CEO, staff and volunteers to develop mission oriented tactics that meet the needs our members, our community, and our operating objectives. Continuously gather and evaluate community trends. • Develops strong relationships and partnerships with specialized organizations and civic organizations to ensure we are meeting member and community needs.
- Gather and evaluate market trends and develop effective marketing and communications strategies to promote the Y and cause initiatives, programs, and benefits.
- Participates in Association committees and develops strong committee relationships including the recruitment of new volunteer leadership and committee members.
GENERAL:
- Develops common evaluation metrics and strategies that measure the outcomes and community impact of the Y’s impact initiative efforts.
- Works with the Operation Director to direct operations staff and volunteers in the implementation and delivery of tactics and programs related to facility maintenance/upgrades, safety and daily operations.
- Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Act as representative of the YMCA at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Five (5) or more years broad management experience, preferably in the YMCA and/or not-forprofit sector, including strategic planning, board and volunteer development, philanthropic development, and multi-site operations.
- Three (3) years or more experience with YMCA program development, implementation, and management required.
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certificate required within three years from date of hire.
- Insight and skill to effectively lead a voluntary, not-for-profit organization within a complex internal and external environment.
- Demonstrated experience in community relations, financial development, fiscal management, and board and volunteer development.
- Ability to attract, retain, lead and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadership.
- Knowledge and understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner these resources with the YMCA to meet strategic objectives.
- Must be regarded as a peer to other top-level community leaders.
- Must have commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics.
- Must be an articulate spokesperson on behalf of the YMCA.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
- An understanding of the national and international relationships of the YMCA is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Salary: $58,000.00 - $75,000.00
