The Senior Recruiter is responsible for providing highly qualified candidates for flexible and full-time opportunities in the assigned regions at LLS.  This position covers the whole recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing through to appointment and candidate management.  Additionally, the Senior Recruiter must be able to operate in a highly collaborative manner with the Regional or National HR Business Partners and senior managers to ensure that the function proactively sources candidates in the most cost effective and timely manner to meet business requirements.  The senior recruiter will work with the Regional or National HR Business Partners in the recruitment and selection of employees ensuring that staffing requirements are satisfied in the most timely and cost effective manner. This individual will work with team members to provide a diverse talent pool of candidates for each hire while reducing the dependency on external search firms.  

This role supports the following regions: Pacific West, Mid-West, South West & South East. Candidates must be able to access the Chicago, Illinois chapter office.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for full lifecycle recruitment at the national office or for Chapters in the assigned regions.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with departments, hiring managers and existing employees to effectively develop recruiting strategies.
  • Assist with defining the hiring needs of the department by working closely with senior hiring managers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business issues and priorities.
  • When necessary coordinate and participate in recruiting events and college career fairs across the state.
  • Conduct interviews (in person, phone, Skype) with candidates to assess candidates' skills, experience and fit for the organization.
  • Successfully source, cold call, screen and manage the interview and offer process.
  • Ensure that candidates complete appropriate paperwork (employment application, background check release form, etc.) and comply with standard hiring procedures.
  • Identify top talent across line-of-business, geographies and diverse cultures.
  • Work with temporary agencies and recruitment firms to source candidates when necessary.
  • Manage Applicant tracking System and track candidate applications.
  • Produce and maintain accurate monthly recruiting reports and analyze key metrics.
  • Stay current on recruitment trends by building and maintaining network of contacts in industry, participating in industry events and professional associations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
  • Conduct closing interviews, deliver declinations and extend offers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
BA/BS degree in business or human resources management.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 7 -10 years of demonstrated experience recruiting diverse populations for multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as internet navigation.
  • Experience in working with applicant tracking systems.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and written communication skills, excellent analytical, planning and problem solving skills required.
  • Must be able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with sophisticated compensation negotiations
  • Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency and takes ownership of solving problems
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
