The Senior Manager, Human Resources is a generalist business partner with a focus on employee relations and benefit communications. As a trusted resource and advisor, the role requires empathy, integrity and a solid mastery of employee rights and resources. This position is responsible for employee relations, benefits and wellness initiatives including annual enrollment, recognition, policy and procedure, compliance learning and related workforce communications.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as a confidential resource to YMCA of the USA employees on workforce and workplace employment-related matters.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all benefit programs. Deliver benefit education messages and respond to benefit questions; deliver new hire orientation presentations specific to benefits and enrollment. (Benefits include but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, YRetirement, COBRA, workers’ compensation, leave of absence and paid time off).
  • Lead annual benefit open enrollment event including employee communication material distribution, WFN enrollment instructions, WFN system preparation and benefit confirmations to all staff, retirees and COBRA participants.
  • Lead health events (annual health fair, flu shots, and health assessment administration).
  • Partner with Manager, HR Operations on leave of absence administration (protected time off, workplace accommodations, etc.).
  • Create, review and interpret reports from various HR systems and applications.
  • Responsible for employee recognition initiatives; champions the recognition committee.
  • Prepare annual departmental budget, lead monthly budget management for the department including the annual and quarterly variance report review.
  • Support Link-HR content development.
  • Lead Ergonomics Program at Y-USA including necessary training.
  • Performs exit interviews and related notifications.
Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of human resource generalist experience is required within the areas of employee conflict, workforce strategy, organizational change, health benefit administration including leave of absence management, workplace compliance, goal setting and workforce analytics.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills (MS: Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required; ADP WFN experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and conversations with extreme sensitivity is required
  • Demonstrated good reasoning abilities and sound judgment and problem-solving skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and meet deadlines is required

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00
