This individual contributes to increased enrollment of covered employees of local YMCAs in YMCA Employee Benefits’ plans.

The Senior Account Manager, YMCA Employee Benefits (YEB) is responsible for new business development and current account retention to ensure increasing enrollment of covered employees using YMCA Employee Benefits’ programs. This position works with the Director of Business Development to establish consultative relationships with YMCAs to help them adopt and implement best practices in health and welfare benefit plan delivery positioning YMCA Employee Benefits as the plan of choice among YMCAs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for meeting annual goals of increasing participation of YMCA employees in plans offered by YMCA Employee Benefits through the acquisition of new YMCAs and retention of existing YMCAs.
  • Develop and execute sales and service strategies for all size YMCAs responding to requests for quotes and analyzing all data to evaluate and complete the underwriting process.
  • Works cooperatively with YMCA Employee Benefits team members to carry out the mission and objectives of the plan.
  • Prepare and release proposals unique to each YMCA’s request.
  • Create, design and prepare customized presentation materials to meet the needs of local YMCAs depending on size, requirements, and plan selection.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to YMCA leadership and employees including, but not limited to, open enrollment, claim review, and legislative updates.
  • Provide effective consulting and education to assigned YMCAs including in person contact annually with the YMCAs.
  • Represent the Plan at local meetings of YMCA leadership such as executive conferences, and other national, regional, and state meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business development processes and strategies. Recommend and implement changes as needed.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits including group health sales and service or equivalent experience in group benefits administration is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in human resources administration in a YMCA setting is highly desired.
  • Must possess strong technical experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and industry related software.
  • Must possess proven strong business and relationship development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to all employee levels is required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Welfare Plans as well as related legal/legislative issues is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all employee levels is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task is required.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00
