The Manager, Global Strategies and Services advances the expansion of the Y-USA Diversity, Inclusion and Global (DIG) strategy through the management of DIG service delivery, communications, impact measurement, and internal and external partner networking. The position works closely with local YMCAs and other Y-USA departments to advance local DIG efforts through technical support and networking. This includes strategy development to advance DIG with local YMCAs, training, tool and resource development and the co-management of national grants or strategic alliance partnerships.
The Manager ensures that the DIG Network functions efficiently and effectively as a learning, networking and innovation platform for DIG work. This includes the organization of DIG communications, identifying, establishing and leading targeted learning cohorts within the Network, capturing operational and programmatic best practices for replication, and tracking and capturing Association strategic priorities and impact. This work will be delivered through education and communication materials, training, maintenance of web-based communications, and the development of resources for local YMCAs. The incumbent will capture best practices, stories of impact and cause-driven leadership behavior, identify existing or new trends, and coordinate and collaborate with field-experts to provide replicable program resources to serve local associations. The position will also ensure a coordinated internal process for developing and delivering communication messages related to local and international global services, programs and initiatives.
This position will be based in Chicago, IL.
- Advance the development of DIG YMCAs: Advance the DIG YMCA strategy in collaboration with the Senior Director, Global Strategies and Services, and the Internatinal Group and Diversity and Inclusion departments. Ensure the integration of global strategic priorities in coordination with assigned DIG YMCAs, broader DIG Network YMCAs and other YMCA associations, to develop annual tactical objectives to ensure the integration of global strategic priorities. Provide leadership to the DIG Innovation Network Steering and Strategy Council (SSC) to ensure organizational alignment of the DIG Network with Y-USA and local YMCA strategic priorities.
- Project and Event Management to Advance DIG Network: Lead the coordination of local YMCA Associations participation in key national forums for the advancement of DIG efforts including annual DIG Innovation Network Event, Global Camp Conference, World Council, YMCA Europe Youth Events and DIG representation and participation in YMCA events owned by other Y-USA departments. Support DIG cohorts and provide tracking oversight to internal department projects.
- Communications: Develop and update communication resources for local Y’s on DIG work through newsletters, one-pagers and electronic learning/discussion. Capture and highlight stories of impact and cause-driven leadership behavior, including World Service to advance global philanthropy. Manage posting and monitoring of content on intranet per subject matter experts requests and knowledge management governance policies. Develop and execute a content plan for site to further knowledge sharing in line with knowledge management governance policies. Manage access to site for users associated with International YMCAs.
- Local YMCA DIG Service Delivery and Capacity Building: Co-lead, in partnership with Diversity and Inclusion, service-delivery support to associations, neighborhood networks and state alliances through on-site visits, webinars and learning cohorts. Assist local YMCAs to collaborate more strategically with other YMCAs, locally through the DIG network and internationally through Y-to-Y partnerships and coalitions, and community partners to serve and engage new and diverse communities and work towards greater equity. Provide efficient and effective service delivery to local YMCA associations. Provide specialist support to associations in global engagement per direct request or request of Y-USA Resource Directors.
- Impact assessment strategies and resources: Oversee management and data tracking of the impact of the DIG strategies nationally and locally, including DIG Priorities and Impact reports. Support local YMCAs to implement impact assessment tools including DIG Metrics and related dashboards. Identify and create support resources and tools for local YMCAs to maximize strategy development and DIG prioritization, goal-setting and work plans.
- Grant cultivation and management: Support the identification, cultivation and management of external grants and strategic alliances that advance DIG priorities.

- Second language skills a plus
- 2 - 4 years related work experience with historically under-represented populations
- Ability to support design and communicate programs and initiatives

- Cultural competencies and knowledge of equity challenges including current social, political and economic trends, issues and contexts
- Knowledge of the YMCA and ability to maintain relationships with local YMCA staff

Salary: $71,000.00 - $75,000.00
