The Donor Services Director will manage all day-to-day activities of gift processing functions, assisting and implementing strategies to optimize gift processing performance and data integrity to support the Association's evolving needs - particularly in light of continued growth of transaction volume. The Donor Services Director directly supervises staff, setting the tone for a smart and exceptionally responsive customer service team, as well as overseeing the relationship with our lockbox data processing vendor, ensuring quality control standards and business rules are maintained to achieve accuracy and integrity of all constituent data within the fundraising systems.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages the work flow and effectiveness of gift processing systems and staff, including deposits, data entry, acknowledgements, receipts, matching gifts, recurring giving and other outgoing material as appropriate, developing new and better ways to meet and exceed high performance standards of gift processing functions.
- Reviews, revises, and assures implementation of donor recognition and stewardship support, including updating receipt and acknowledgement templates as needed.
- Manages the training and quality control oversight for all remote donation processing locations
- Consults with various departments on their planned usage of reports; designs report criteria; establishes report templates; and, produces reports based on said criteria.
- Monitors the integrity of the TA database; immediately addresses any inconsistencies, ensuring all database application-related problems are resolved, coordinating resolution of network-related problems with IT.
- Manages Donor Services budget and vendor payments
Educational Background:
Bachelors degree
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of three years leadership level experience supervising non-profit or customer service staff; demonstrated ability to select, train, motivate, and inspire staff while holding them accountable for their performance
- Ability to work effectively as a team leader and collaboratively as part of a team and a desire to achieve, and lead others toward excellence
- A minimum of two years experience using and managing a database management system. Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems, Team Approach, Personify and Luminate a plus.
- Knowledge of fundraising goals and best practices and understanding of how the donor database and donor services operations support these goals and influences these practices.
- Proficient MS Office Skills required
- Experience in managing budgets
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and maintain composure under demanding deadlines
- Experience in assessing and implementing improvements
