The Director of Culture and Engagement provides leadership for the design, continuous improvement and implementation of strategies to help Ys develop and sustain a vibrant cause-centered culture, intentionally engage people in our cause, and inspire, educate, and motivate staff to become stronger cause-driven leaders.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead the process to define our YMCA culture and engagement models
- Lead the process to develop tools and resources that will guide and equip leaders to model and sustain culture and engagement strategies.
- Lead the process to ensure integration of Culture & Engagement into key processes and resources across all Y-USA departments (i.e. leadership competency training; leadership development cohort programs; thought leadership/innovation cohorts; Service Delivery Partner Ys, YPN, Alliance Partner processes
- Lead the integration of culture and employee engagement in Brand 2.0
- Lead the process to ensure high impact design, implementation and continuous improvement of Pride, Passion, and Purpose, and Principles & Practices (P&P). Identify and implement strategies to increase P&P participation to engage more staff overall and more staff within their first three years with the Y
- Lead the design, development and implementation of new employee orientation and onboarding resources that include culture and cause awareness
- Lead and support collaborations and projects with the Talent & Knowledge Management Board and the CHRO Partnership Group
- Lead the process to design and implement a YMCA authored staff engagement survey, including creating processes and tools for local Ys to use in understand their survey results and developing action plans to address areas of opportunity.
- Serve on the Nationwide Campaign strategy team to provide input on and assist in local uptake of national positioning campaigns and activities that elevate the Y as a charitable nonprofit
- Supervise and direct the work of Managers of Culture and Engagement
- Oversee the development, management and reporting of the success metrics to track adoption and impact of the engagement and culture resources
- Manage the culture and engagement budget
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in Y leadership development including design and development of learning solutions/culture engagement tools and resources
- Five years’ supervisory experience
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research and synthesizing insights
- Experience creating high-quality visual communications and producing multi-media deliverables
- Experience facilitating, training and delivering information in a compelling manner
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage other using social networks and other tools
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to travel 50-75%
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $106,000.00 - $130,000.00
