The Knowledge Management Coordinator supports the team through administrative assistance and providing first line responses to users of the Knowledge Management systems. This role supports the organization’s internal knowledge sharing and social networking platform for Y staff and volunteers across the country as well as the editorial function.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Monitors and responds to all platform feedback received via e-mail, Internet, and Contact Center or escalates queries as necessary.
  • Acts as an expert community manager and go-to person for the platform.
  • Delivers training on how to navigate the knowledge-sharing platform for new hires and holds refresher sessions as needed.
  • Maintains training documentation and KM internal process documentation
  • Manages the process with other Y-USA departments for posting on the home page of the platform. Develops home page content and posts content developed by others.
  • Participates in testing changes to the platform including new and improved functionality, and potentially writes test scripts
  • Assists with department meetings logistics and supplies
  • Assist with editorial work, such as image selection and document formatting using templates
  • Provides administrative support which includes but is not limited to: scheduling travel, meetings, and expense reimbursements for Directors
  • Coordinates efforts for special projects, correspondence, events and mailings, while adhering to deadlines
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Director, Knowledge Management
Educational Background: 
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Intermediate skills with the Microsoft Office programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher including Outlook and computer skills are required
  • Intermediate knowledge of web and mobile technologies and HTML are required
  • Demonstrated ability to learn software quickly and train others
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as determined by priorities of the team
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take action proactively is required
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast-paced working environment is required
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse persons at all levels of an organization, both inside and outside the YMCA is required
  • Commitment to the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility is required
