Teach For America - Chicago-Northwest Indiana seeks a Coordinator, Corps Experience to play a critical role supporting the overall Corps Experience teams who work directly with our corps members to ensure their effectiveness in classrooms. The Coordinator, Corps Experience leads logistics and planning for corps member facing events and plays a critical role in the administration and upkeep of our corps member data and communication systems. The Coordinator is someone who is fulfilled by the day to day work of behind-the-scenes operations and see this role as an opportunity to impact and support our team and corps members as they work toward educational equity. The Coordinator, Corps Experience sits on the Corps Experience team which is a sub-unit of the Corps Member Leaders team, and reports to the Managing Director, 2nd Year Corps Member Leadership (MD, 2CM).

Areas of Responsibility: 

Event Planning and Execution (30%)

  • Secure space for corps member learning events including, but not limited to: Leadership Summits (all day professional development events on Saturdays), 1st year corps member Learning Communities, 2nd year corps member events, the corps member Holiday Party and Content Nights
  • Source and select food vendors for events  
  • Create logistics memos for corps members and staff for corps member learning events
  • Provide day/night of logistics support for events including but not limited to set-up, technology, coordination with space, printing, and vendor outreach

Corps Member Data and Systems Management (40%)

  • Manage Corps Member survey completion for three windows throughout the year
  • Manage upkeep of Corps Members facing website including coordinating with the Director, Communications and Corps Member Coaches to ensure their respective sections are updated regularly
  • Centrally track corps member attendance for events
  • Manage the launch of and maintain our participant database and send monthly reports to Coaches
  • Support coaches to comply with regional expectations related to our SalesForce platform (known internally as TFACT)

Budget Management (10%)

  • Track and code receipts and invoices for Corps Experience spending on a monthly cadence

Program Coordination (10%)

  • Work in partnership with Coordinator, Pre-Corps Operations to integrate Americorps expectations into Corps experience systems (such as on our corps member facing website).
  • Organize the logistics of team retreats, meetings, and social activities (including meeting space, technology, and internal communications) particularly as it pertains to the to VP, Corps Member Leadership and 1CM and 2CM MD’s

Collective Responsibility Regional Projects (10% of time)

  • Fulfill foundational responsibilities that allow our region to do our work, make decisions, grow as professionals, and strengthen our team culture, including but not limited to attending regional meetings, operating with our Core Values and commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness, completing our performance management cycle, and upholding our data management, office operations, and fiscal responsibilities
  • Make a direct impact on the organizational mission of enlisting, developing and mobilizing leaders to strengthen the movement for educational equity by participating in selection (6-10 days total plus preparation and close out time), matriculation (up to six windows across the year), regional recruitment activity, member facing events (including Leadership Summits and Summer Training), our alumni giving campaign, alumni survey, and at least one regional or national committee/working group, and other initiatives that impact our members and partners
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1-2 years of previous work experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and Google docs preferred
