The Business Analyst-Product Specialist will perform assigned business analysis tasks and be the subject matter expert for assigned software products. This role will serve as a liaison between the Y-USA departments and the Information Technology department in facilitating requirements development sessions, documenting current state business processes, and conducting gap analysis.  Responsibilities will also include documenting product maintenance support procedures, prioritizing requested changes, defining business solutions, and building and maintaining strong business relationships. This position reports to the Software ProductManager.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Visualizes current and future state business and systems environment and creates comprehensive analysis of gaps, risks, opportunities and impact to the organization proposing various options and solutions to close gaps
  • Work closely with operational teams to design and develop business processes that can be supported by assigned technology solution(s)
  • Elicits, analyzes, models and documents detailed requirements by using a variety of elicitation techniques and best practices
  • Create documentation and perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection and integration needs to inform business process design and reporting requirements
  • Performs data analysis functions; synthesizes data collection points and defines validation logic and/or other system business rules to ensure data integrity and report quality
  • Performs business systems analysis functions by adhering to software development lifecycle (SDLC), operational procedures, and project management methodologies
  • Provide expert and creative solutions to meet end-user business requirements and/or business problems
  • Leads the planning, execution and monitoring of quality assurance functions for identified solutions; may include but is not limited to; test planning and case creation and execution and defect management and resolution
  • Ensure tools and information are available to allow exceptional support from the Level 1, 2, and 3 support teams
  • Ensure requirements traceability and alignment to Y-USA’s SDLC framework;delivers appropriate reporting and analytics to ensure adherence to plans
  • Work with the Software Product Manager to create and regular publish product stability metrics and develop and maintain the supporting standard operating procedures to support the adherence to defined standards
  • Analyze production defects and user trends to recommend application improvements
  • Acts as liaison between third party vendors and internal stakeholders to facilitate solution delivery, issue resolution; acts as the technology solution “expert” in relation to third party solutions and their support of the business process
  • Work closely with developers to define and create specifications for development work, data migrations, or integrations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Software Product Manager and/or Information Technology management
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. A concentration in Information Systems, Computer Science or Technology is strongly preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business analysis and requirements gathering and documentation
  • Experience in application development and support and/or software product analysis is preferred
  • Experience implementing both custom developed software solutions and third party SaaS and Cloud solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of business analysis, product management, development and QA management tools such as MS Project, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), Test Manager is strongly preferred
  • Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop business and system processes and methodologies
  • Ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships and to represent the needs of the stakeholders is critical
  • Experience utilizing SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and SCRUM is preferred
  • Experience working in a project-based environment; knowledge of Project Management Institute’s standards is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence others is required
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team and individuals geographically dispersed and across various levels of the organization is required
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required
