The Manager, Risk Management is responsible for implementing the Alzheimer's Association's risk management framework. They oversee the enterprise risk management and the vendor risk management programs and will establish themselves as a dynamic, proactive, and decisive leader capable of driving change from all functional areas within the organization.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Establishes a process to identify risk, implements a system of measurement, and assesses progress made for remediation plans
- Develops and implements tools, practices and procedures to coordinate and facilitate risk assessment activities
- Conducts audits of policy and compliance to standards
- Creates and monitors remediation plans; tracks progress against them
- Researches, prepares, summarizes and communicates risk reports to senior management
- Maintains current knowledge of regulatory landscape and best practices through professional networks
- Other Internal Audit duties as assigned to meet business needs
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree required
Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years' progressive experience in audit and/or risk management required
- Highly organized with excellent project management skillsÂ
- Efficient prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Strategic, creative, and critical thinking skills to independently anticipate, communicate, and proactively solve problems
- Keen attention to detail with excellent analytical skills; ability to summarize and communicate findings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to interact effectively and with high degree of integrity and confidentiality with all levels of staff and executives and collaborate to achieve goals
- Ability to assert ideas confidently and tactfully to influence and motivate stakeholders when driving performance
