The Oak Leaf Auction Assistant is a part-time, temporary position providing operational support for the Oak Leaf Auction fundraising event.  Other general duties may also be assigned.  Flexible start date from June 1 – July 1. Work day requirements are 2 days a week in the months of June, July and August, 3 days a week in September and 5 days a week in October.   Daily office hours are 7-hours. Attendance at the Saturday, October 26th event is expected; this is a 10-hour day. Post event coverage is expected during the week after the event for approximately 2 days. $18/hr.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Oak Leaf Auction Assistant will support event preparation activities as directed.  Under the direction of the Events Coordinator, s/he will contact vendors to request specific auction items and will methodically track the progress of auction items received and needed.  S/he may handle tracking ticket and donation payments, preparing and printing name tags, preparing event day supplies. S/he will have frequent interaction with Philanthropy staff and may interact with donors. The Assistant will attend the event and assist with setup/tear down and attendee registration.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Does not supervise any staff.
  • Duties are performed according to instructions or established practices.
  • May serve as a team member for assigned work teams.
  • Supervisor will resolve any problems or questions.
  • Work environment involves only infrequent and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Experience with learning procedures and following instructions.
  • Experience meeting deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree or higher
  • Fundraising event experience.
  • Experience working as a member of a team or committee.
  • Ability to work independently and track and report progress.
  • Work experience in an office environment.
