Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Programs and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Hemby Senior Program Director will fulfill the following responsibilites. Actively support volunteer development efforts and participate in the Brace YMCA Member Involvement initiative in a leadership role. Support and participate in the Brace YMCA Community Outreach Campaign, and Special Events. Provide direct leadership, management and direction of teen programming. Under the leadership of the Associate Executive Director of Programs, the Senior Hemby Program Diretcor will provide leadership to the Hemby Program Director, Homeschool Coordinator and Preschool Director.
Member Involvement
- Provide active leadership, support and participation in the Brace Family YMCA volunteer programs by planning and implementing volunteer opportunities in each department.
- ROSTER volunteers.
- Participate in the recruitment of volunteers for branch fundraising efforts.
- Support volunteers by participating in Outreach Campaign and Special Events.
- Provide leadership to branch volunteer committees as directed.
Program Operations
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the assigned departments within the approved budget parameters. Oversee development and implementation of all programs related to teen program. Ensure key program delivery for Hemby Center Programming and Facility events.
- Responsible with the overall implementation and evaluation of teen programming.
- Hire, Supervise and manage the Hemby Program Director, Preschool Director and Homeschool Coordinator.
- Foster appropriate relationships with kindred organizations, community leaders and appropriate community groups in order to properly represent the YMCA and its mission.
- Manage the staff and volunteer teams. Soley responsible for all licensing camp requirements mandated by YUSA and related to safety and quality.
- Responsible for daily up keep, cleanliness, maintenance of the Hemby Center and all aspects of the property.
- Develop, implement and evaluate departmental goals for each area of responsibility which includes but is not limited to teens, afterschool and seasonal camps. These goals will reflect branch and association goals.
- Management of established operation guidelines, quality, safety standards and tracking system to ensure success in all program and administrative areas.
- Responsible for developing and implementing creative, age appropriate programs and curriculum for each supervised department.
- Involvement with program and branch related special events, as assigned.
- Supervise and maintaining the on-going processes associated with program registration, cancellation and wait lists.
- Five years minimum experience programming development, budgeting and supervision of staff in the areas of programs or children ages 5 – 15 preferably in a day camp setting
- A minimum of four year’s direct responsibility for the management of staff, program development, supervision, and budgeting.
- Possess superior supervisory and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and supervisory skills for developing harmonious relationships with staff, members, volunteers and community leaders.
- Possess CPR & First Aid Certification at time of hire or obtain the certification within the the first 30 days of employment
- Possess Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
- Experience in high/low ropes course initiative. Begin certification process within 6 months of hire.
- Experience and confidence making independent decisions
Hourly: $17.48 - $21.85
