Under the direction of the Director of Leadership Development and in accordance with the core values and behaviors of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, the Regional Training Manager will manage Local & Regional Training Events in North Carolina, South Carolina and Western Virginia YMCAs in accordance with the Training Partner agreement with YUSA. The Regional Training Manager is responsible for meeting the YUSA Trainer Partner Y (TPY) goals and building the strategies to serve the training needs of the region. This position will also build and implement a centralized curriculum development program for the YMCA of Greater Charlotte along with the development of the curriculum.
Training Partner Y:
- Manage up to 10 Regional Training Events and a minimum of 10 Mini-Training Events annually in Western Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina (approx. 70 Associations)
- Develop liaison relationships with other Training Partner Y locations in the South Region and YUSA to implement consistencies in NC/SC/VA Regional Trainings.
- Work closely with other TPY Regional Training Managers to ensure quality and consistent learning experiences throughout the South Region.
- Administrator of the Learning and Development website on the YExchange to ensure content consistency, quality and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with YUSA staff to ensure quality trainers and service to participants including creating Trainer Academy opportunities.
- Responsible for the training lines of the Leadership Development annual budget
- Create, through collaboration with the Association Marketing Department, all TPY communication and event marketing plans/materials.
- Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers for trainings and the communication with all full-time staff throughout the region (approx. 2,000)
- Provide primary leadership in coordination of hospitality volunteers for local and regional trainings.
- Manage vendor relationships for training needs (food, equipment and training locations)
YMCA of Greater Charlotte Association:
- Build the strategy and process for a centralized curriculum development program
- Partner with business line directors to develop curriculum to fit the business needs of each service and program line (approx. 8 service lines and 10 program lines)
- Create, implement and manage the manager onboarding training series to include, but not limited to: Employee Relations / HR Law, Finance, Financial Development and Professional Conduct basics.
- Identify and train Association trainers for in-house trainings
- Be an active member of the North and South Carolina State Alliances and serve on the NC State alliance Leadership Development cohort.
- Bachelors degree required (preferred in Organizational Development, Human Resource Management, Curriculum Development)
- At least 7 years experience in Operations, Human Resources or Program Development
- At least 5 years of experience working with volunteers
- Experience building training curriculums
- Knowledge of YMCA of the USA training system
- Preferred YUSA Team Leader Certification
- Excellent written/oral presentation and communication skills
- Excellent administrative skills including presentation design, typing, filing, and basic accounting
- Proficiency with technology with experience in Microsoft office applications
- The ability to create office systems for registration, documentation and tracking
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills
- Proven ability to have initiative, good judgment and ability to make decisions independently
- Proactive work style a must with constant implementation of innovation and creativity that refresh systems and processes
- Ability to travel, including overnight trips, at least 25% of time.
