Under the supervision of the  Executive Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the  Associate Executive Director of Membership will be responsible for providing leadership to the  strategy and execution of branch membership sales, connection and retention for the Harris YMCA.  In addition, this role will provide strategic and operational supervision to all aspects of Healthy Living programming and outcomes within the assigned branch(es).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding the monthly membership sales and connection goals.
  • Develop strategies to increase member connectivity and retention through communication efforts to all new members who join.
  • Ensure appropriate systems and measurements are in place for the tour/sale  process, in line with Association best practices, strategies and initiatives.
  • Implement concepts and strategy in coordination with the Association new member onboarding, connection and engagement best practices.
  • Provide strategy and leadership  throughout branch leadership team related to membership sales and retention, ensuring optimization of Association acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Support the sales and service team and day to day service desk operations.
  • Partner with the Association Marketing and Communications department to ensure effective promotion and visibility of all assigned membership and program areas.
  • Leads all current program strategies and associated goals specifically related to Healthy Living programs and services, including but not limited to personal training, wellness and group fitness.
  • Provides branch leadership supporting Association initiatives in areas of Quality, Risk Management, and Member Engagement
  • Work in collaboration with branch, Association, and regional Healthy Living leadership in strategic planning, forward thinking and maintenance of associated programs, equipment and facilities.
  • Develop, implement and  provide oversight to the Membership and Healthy Living budgets.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor degree in related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five years supervisory experience in a related field with comparable program growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, hiring, training and development of volunteers and staff.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification or ability to attain certification within three years of hire.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work/interact with diverse populations.
  • Computer literate.  Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and database management.
  • High ethical standards and possess strong personal and professional integrity.
  • Ability to successfully obtain certification in CPR/AED and First Aid

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in excess of a 40-hour week with irregular work hours.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor), while maintaining alertness for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
  • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $54,801.00 - $67,602.00
