Great opportunity in a new position to provide strategic direction and program support to the association child care programs.

Specific functions will focus on: Recruitment, On-boarding and Training of Childcare Staff, Program Quality, Program Materials, Inclusion and Behavior Management and to serve as the Staff Resource person for the Childcare Impact Program Group

 

Position requires values consistent with the YMCA, Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent. Two to five years related experience in a leadership role, as a director or supervisor of child care programs.  Knowledge of the Ohio Child Care Licensing and Step Up to Quality programs, experience in rating and licensing sites preferred. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruitment, On-boarding and Training of Child Care Staff
    • Connect with local colleges and employment opportunities
    • Create Internship Program
    • Provide site director training and materials including information on licensing and required     paperwork
    • Assist with the Association Summer Day Camp training and provide leadership to similar training/trainings during the school year
  • Program Quality
    • Assist with OCLQS system for current licensing and Step Up to Quality
    • Lead the Step Up Quality process for sites to be rated by 2020
    • Coordinate with Y-USA initiatives and available trainings
    • Assist with tuition policies, invoicing procedures and payment balances
    • Assists with Parent and Participant Evaluation process including developing evaluation and  compiling results
    • Assist with Healthy Food options linking with area food vendors and food programs
    • Connect with community agencies including DD Board, ECRC, etc.…
  • Program Materials
    • Develop and maintain the required forms, parent materials, etc.…
    • Maintain and update the program best practices
    • Maintain and update the program statistics including average daily attendance numbers, etc.
    • Assist with development and maintain the materials needed for star rating/Step Up to Quality
    • Works with Association Marketing Director and Child Care directors in program promotions, resource guide,  and marketing materials
  • Inclusion and Behavior Management
    • Assist Child Care Directors with program inclusion, including working with staff and parents
    • Assist Child Care Directors with behavior management plans, including working with staff and parents
    • Coordinate necessary trainings for staff on topics of inclusion and behavior management
  • Resource for the Child Care Impact Program Group
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Skills/Experience: 
  1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
  2. Two to five years related experience in a leadership role, as a director or supervisor of child care programs.
  3. Knowledge of the Ohio Child Care Licensing and Step Up to Quality programs, experience in rating and licensing sites preferred.
  4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
