The Cambridge Y is seeking a qualified Lead Teacher who is enthusiastic, reliable, and has great classroom management skills.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Supervise the children and classroom activities at all times
  • Able to conduct parent conferences and write progress reports
  • Always promote positive relationships with families, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom
  • Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and maintain 20 hours of staff trainings per year
  • Follow the YMCA and EEC polices and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations
  • Plan and carry out a strong emergent curriculum with the teachers in the Preschool team
Educational Background: 
AS/BA Degree Preferred 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to supervise staff and children and provide quality care for our families
  • Able to work with the Child Care Director to manage and run the day to day operations of the classroom
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Lead Teacher in a Preschool setting 
  • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid
  • EEC Lead Teacher certified
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.00 - $21.00
