Full-time

J-PAL North America, based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, seeks a Training Manager to develop and lead training activities, and manage a portfolio of training courses hosted by the North America regional office in coordination with J-PAL Global and partner organizations.

  • An annual research staff training targeted to research assistants working for J-PAL or partner organizations, covering best practices in implementing and managing randomized evaluations
  • J-PAL North America’s flagship Executive Education course targeted to policymakers, practitioners, and researchers from governments and nonprofits, providing an overview of randomized evaluation methodology through group work and lectures

Through these training activities, J-PAL North America supports the work of top economists across the region, builds the capacity of research staff across different organizations, and develops strong relationships with researchers and influential policymakers. These programs are a key part of J-PAL North America’s strategy for developing a cohort of researchers interested in and capable of conducting high-quality randomized evaluations, and for building the capacity of government leaders and innovative service providers to partner with researchers and apply the lessons from research into their policymaking.
