The YMCA Camp MacLean is hiring for a full-time Food Service Manager in beautiful southeast Wisconsin.

The YMCA Camp MacLean is hiring for a full-time Food Service Manager in beautiful southeast Wisconsin to join the YMCA team. This integral position will work in coordination with other members of the full –time staff team in order to achieve camp goals.

Areas of Responsibility: 

As a Food Service Manager - You will:

  • Operate food service department according to standards set forth by the camp, YMCA, County and State
  • Hire, train and serve as lead supervisor and head cook for all food service staff: cooks, and dishwashers
  • Demonstrate and deliver great customer experience by putting customer needs first
  • Set and maintain all cooking standards and procedures in addition to developing, organizing, and designing menus
  • Prepare, implement and manage food service budget
  • Take lead in purchasing, inventory management, and waste control and securing vendor and product suppliers
  • Purchase, maintain and secure repairs for all kitchen equipment and keep in well maintained condition
  • Set and maintain all cleaning and sanitation standards ensuring all health department standards for food service are followed
  • Support the YMCA’s mission and center operations
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Food Service, Culinary field OR 5 years minimum of food service and managerial experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • The ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time; walk stairs; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all customers from point of contact
  • Have developed communications skills: written and verbal
