Responsible for the successful management and administration of School Age Child Care, Summer Day Camp, and Preschool programs. Plans, schedules and manages programming. Supervises program staff.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages and coordinates assigned SACC, day camp, and preschool programs. Ensures high quality programs, establishes new program activities, and ensures program enrollment targets are met.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and supervises employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Exercises necessary controls to ensure operations are carried out and a balanced fiscal operation exists.
- Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
- Develops and maintains relationships with organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
- Responds to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Provides staff leadership for the annual campaign and committees as assigned.
- Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
- Maintains proper records and department files.
- Organizes special events related to the program area.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Implements survey response procedures. Evaluates program effectiveness and responds to customer feedback.
- Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Carries out other tasks as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years of related experience, as a coordinator or supervisor of related programs.
- Ability to manage assigned programs and supervise staff and volunteers.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to use analytical, interpretative and evaluative thought in making decisions and solving problems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Competency using Microsoft Office software.
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $16.50
