Candidate must be able to nurture a high-performing team of staff, volunteers, contract officials and organizational partnerships focused on growing the impact of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility by developing high quality, excellent experiences in youth programming that aids in strengthening the foundations of our community.  This position will actively participate as a member of a dynamic, high performing, cause-driven branch leadership team, exhibiting the characteristics of a welcoming, nurturing, genuine, hopeful and determined leader by developing a passionate commitment to all members within our community.

Ability to passionately promote and market all programs and facility rentals with a sense of urgency and attention to member service is a must. This position will oversee a 40,000+ sq ft. indoor arena with 2 turf fields along with another 15+ acres of outdoor sports fields and summer camp amenities.  This role will support member satisfaction by assuring a clean, safe and attractive facility & grounds by working with maintenance staff as well as contractors. This position requires face-to-face leadership and involves mornings, evenings, and weekend responsibilities depending on the season. The Sr. Program Director will take an active role in the Y’s Annual Campaign, including donor and volunteer cultivation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
  • Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA Mission, Promise, Values and Voice.
  • Oversee vision and operation of branch summer day camps that encompass preschool age through middle school age children, from budgeting, marketing, hiring, training, and scheduling with the camp director, all reporting directly to this position.
  • Supervise Assistant Program Director and LaGrange Community Center director.
  • Develop and manage the budget for 4 different departments, with multiple programs per department, totaling over $700,000 in annual revenue.
  • Responsible for making the Indoor Arena a financially, self-sustaining operation and facility.
  • Lead, manage, and supervise 30+ part time staff and 200+ total volunteers that are involved with our youth soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, youth field hockey, and youth flag football programs.
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating of all youth program staff in the above mentioned programs.
  • Recruit, train, and communicate the mission & values of the YMCA to all program volunteers.
  • Actively seek out and engage in community organization collaborations.
  • Ensure that all of our program facilities and athletic field areas portray a clean, welcoming environment with specific attention to details.
  • Develop a creative and innovative marketing/promotional plan for all programs that meets all brand standards.
  • Ensure all members and participants understand the YMCA’s charitable history by passionately participating in the Annual Campaign.

Educational Background:
