The Southeast Europe Programme Coordinator will be a member of the Europe Team, more specifically of the Southeast Europe programme, which is focused on protecting the outstanding freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems of southeastern Europe. The individual will assist the project team and report to the Programme Manager.
The Southeast Europe Programme Coordinator will support the programme team in its daily work. The non-exhaustive list of duties include: organising internal and external meetings (with EU officials and partners), creating content for outreach and communication, managing internal information systems and databases. He/she may participate in strategy planning and developing projects. Duties may also include collecting and analyzing data in the field or through desk research and assisting in the production of reports. The position includes regular travel to the Western Balkans, as well as occasional travel within Europe and the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Does not supervise staff members but may oversee and direct work of office volunteers or interns.
- Provides project management to the programme and coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
- May assist with program budget preparation and monitoring.
- Makes day to day decision as delegated by the supervisor.
- Manage deadlines, related budgets and the implementing/completion of action tasks.
- Contributes to the production and delivery of strategic publications and reports.
- May provide administrative, marketing, and fundraising support.
- Compiles data, information research and relevant summaries.
- Contributes to the Program’s presence in digital and social media.
- Works in a complex, often ambiguous and dynamic environment.
- Willing and able to travel occasionally internationally.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working in complex projects.
- Experience handling standard business communications.
- English language proficiency, written and spoken.

- Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in a Western Balkans language.
- Ability to complete tasks independently within assigned time frames.

- Ability to plan, administer and record results of work-team meetings and activities.
- Comfortable with creating content for social media.
