The Board of Directors of the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County is seeking a dedicated, career-oriented Executive Director.
The Boys & Girls Club mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The E.D. is responsible for bringing this mission to life in Transylvania County by working to ensure that the club’s youth are provided a safe and fun space to engage in opportunities and with caring professionals to guide them.
Working Conditions
Must be available to work a weekday schedule of 8:30 – 5:00 pm (includes a 30-minute lunch break). The schedule will require flexibility for events and/or meetings occurring evenings and weekends – such as special events, fundraisers, Board meetings, meetings with donors, etc.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform administrative work at a computer for 4-plus hours at a time, attend off-site meetings, and support operations and/or special events if needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Necessary mental requirements include concentration and focus on fulfilling the mission of The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County. Additionally, the Club requires all applicants for employment to be tested for the presence of drugs and/or alcohol as part of our organization's drug free workplace policy prohibiting drug or alcohol use.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant leadership, organizational, and operations management experience
Successful Resource Development experience demonstrating the ability to cultivate donors and maintain relationships with key partners
Experience working with and supporting a Board of Directors. Ability to cultivate relationships with current and potential board members
Marketing/communications & public relations experience
Bachelor’s degree

Excellent human relations skills with both employees, clients, and the public
Management skills for the oversight of a $1 million+ operating budget
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to network with local organizations and other Boys & Girls Clubs for the benefit of the club
Facility with the Internet, Social Media, and Microsoft Office applications
Financial acumen and strategic mindset
Ability to build, manage and maintain effective teams
Ability to use diplomacy, diffuse situations, and exercise discernment with various constituent groups
Ability to collect, research and synthesize data and communicate the club’s impact
Ability to effectively use risk management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to focus on possibilities and a vision for helping the club to serve more youth in a way that fulfills the mission
Salary and Benefits: Minimum Salary range of $51,000 to $65,000 adjustable based on skills and experience. Additional benefits valued over $8,000 include paid time off, health insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and retirement benefits with up to a 3% employer match.
