NRDC is seeking a Winter Intern to work with our Nature Program in NRDC’s Northern Rockies Office in Bozeman, Montana. This internship will support NRDC’s advocacy work on wildlife, federal policy, carnivore coexistence, and other conservation issues in the Northern Rockies. Some travel may be required. The internship will begin in January 2019, it is a 35-hour-per-week position, it will last approximately three months, and the intern will receive a stipend.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Research factual and policy issues relevant to NRDC’s wildlife and state and federal policy advocacy;
- Draft, proofread, and edit documents (e.g., research memoranda);
- Help with outreach and education efforts; and
- Generally assist Nature program staff with various projects.
Educational Background:
Undergraduate degree;
Skills/Experience:
- Outstanding academic record;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple demanding tasks;
- Ability to work both on a team and independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines;
- Exceptional research, writing and communication skills;
- Strong interest in conservation issues in the West; and
- Enthusiasm for NRDC’s mission.
