The SeniorChild CareDirector is expected to develop and manage the overall strategy for delivering programs and services related to the Child Care and Before and After Care Enrichment(BACE) programs; ensure staff excellence in the delivery of all programs in a safe manner with high quality; manage all aspects of the Child Care Center and BACE programs that meet YMCA/DPW/ECERS/ITRS/NAEYC NASE/ACA/Keystone STARS standards; create a team of highly qualified leaders that place the care of children and family education as a high priority; serve as an overall leader for the YMCA and enhance the YMCA Mission; participate in the cultivation and development of relationships that build member, staff and volunteer involvement’ participate in fund raising through annual support, special events and third party sources; identify opportunities for programs that meet financial and service objectives; cultivate relationships with community leaders to ensure program effectiveness; administer program budget, materials, communication, marketing and promotion.
- Manage daily operations of the Child Care and BACE sites, school-age classrooms, including the gym, drop off areas, outdoor facilities, buses, aquatic facilities and office as well as the ordering and maintenance of equipment, cleanliness and cleaning schedules, and inventory management.
- Responsible for staffing, hiring, training, providing feedback and disciplinary action to all Child Care and BACE staff plan and conduct appropriate school-age staff training in keeping with DPW requirements, proper credentials.
- Awareness and knowledge of DPW regulatory standards regarding licensing, staff/child ratios and program delivery and knowledge, awareness and understanding of the Keystone STARS performance standards in order for programs in move through and maintain star designations.
- Responsible for all program audits and programs are operated in accordance with YMCA/ECERS/ITRS/NAEYCNASE/ACA/Keystone STARS standards necessary for accreditation.
- Manage the development, promotion and delivery of high quality programs that are responsive to member needs.
- Produce an annual budget that is aggressive but attainable. Maintain your programs within this budget.
- Awareness and knowledge of YMCA Child Care and BACE, procedures and policies.
- Coordinate and administer all aspects of program registration, promotion, open houses, and communications. Assure communication and information is clear for all participants.
- Be responsible for documentation to include daily and weekly rosters, status of registration, weekly statistics, parent newsletters, all third party payments for school-age child care and camp.
- Plan and conduct BACE staff training at the beginning of camp and ongoing meetings and necessary trainings to keep staff informed and certifications current.
- Create staff schedules, monitor time sheets, complete payroll, and be accountable for departmental budget relating to staff salaries.
- Conduct daily evaluation of equipment and facilities to be used for all programs. Follow up on all safety and cleanliness related issues.
- Work with the Building Maintenance Director to ensure facility cleanliness, maintenance of facility equipment and recommend facility improvements.
- Work cooperatively with other program Directors to schedule and run activities in the gym, pool and other spaces throughout the building. Communicate needs and concerns in oral and written form.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and families of all school-age and camp participants.
- Assure supervision and management of all Child Care and BACE participants at the facility, during transport and on field trips by adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
- At least 4-6 years experience working with children.
- Acquire SACC credential or master’s degree equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 hours of child development training per year as defined by DPW.
Salary: $39,000.00 - $57,000.00
