The Social Media and Outreach Coordinator develops and implements tactics in approved outreach, marketing and volunteer strategies.
This position develops and implements community events and outreach strategies that effectively communicate The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) conservation messages and promote its conservation and community-involvement efforts. This position will create and publish social media content (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) aimed at increasing brand awareness, engagement, and reaching new audiences. Establishes and develops cooperative relationships with local partners, including other NGOs, local agencies and corporations that are involved in environmental efforts to promote, expand and implement TNC’s initiatives. Works with volunteers and TNC’s youth programs and partnerships. Will be responsible for organizing and executing public and private events for audiences ranging in size from 10-400. Will work with other TNC chapter and program staff to coordinate events and social media strategy.
The Social Media and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support as needed, including expense reporting, travel scheduling, meeting coordination, special event logistics, hiring and onboarding support, product ordering, as well as providing additional administrative support to the Program as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Manages programs and sets realistic deadlines and manages a timeline.
- Interprets guidelines and analyzes information.
- Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.
- Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks and projects.
- Work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
- May supervise volunteers, interns, or temporary staff.
- Manages list pulling for all invitations and other mailings.
- Manages event logistics from inception to post-event analytics.
- Sets metrics for events and measures success.
- Coordinates and mobilizes volunteers on behalf of the Colorado Chapter.
- Experience creating content for social media.
- Experience public speaking and education, and writing and/or editing publications and related materials.
- Experience coordinating projects

- Experience managing social media accounts
- Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with public education associated with conservation projects or closely related field.
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred
- Ability to sell ideas to a wide variety of people and interests groups.
- Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity and some application of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline.
- Solicit program support through clear written communications, such as proposal writing and other written materials.
