Video Producer, Digital Storyteller

The Video Producer & Digital Storyteller will work closely with the VP of Marketing and YMCA of Greater Boston’s external agencies to tell the story of how the YMCA of Greater Boston works to improve health and empower youth and families. The position will create content to increase the awareness of our organization as a charity, partner and employer of choice. The Video Producer & Digital Storyteller will use their technical expertise of video, photographic, graphic design and creative writing, along with their obsession for storytelling, to engage audiences in the Y’s mission and cause.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Storyboard, script, interview, shoot, edit and execute engaging and enticing videos for digital channels (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Team-Y app, website, etc.) that are authentic, compelling and on-brand.
  • Develop innovative and creative ideas to fuel interaction and engagement between YMCA of Greater Boston members and potential members online and in person.
  • Lead social media storytelling efforts of the YMCA of Greater Boston including content creation (video and photography) and posting to support YMCA of Greater Boston’s engagement and communication goals.
  • Produce fitness and wellness videos for our Team-Y App.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the association office teams, external agencies and branch teams to determine content-producing ideas and opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to association staff in grassroots video and social media execution
  • Manage all digital video assets, including regular maintenance and archiving of content.
  • Create custom images and animations as needed, using original and stock content.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends in digital video and social to implement fresh ideas that will drive brand/mission awareness and help drive member, prospect and donor growth and engagement as well as staff recruitment
  • Build and execute a video production calendar that aligns and supports the achievement of marketing and organizational objectives
Educational Background: 
Degree, diploma or certificate in one or more of the following: Videography, Film & TV, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Journalism, Digital Design, Broadcasting, Communications, Digital Marketing or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of experience producing digital video and graphic content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience for best practices, tools and processes for publishing original online video and content
  • Proficient with video editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience using web analytics and social media monitoring/measurement tools like Google Adwords, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, ISSU
  • Must have a portfolio/demo reel demonstrating relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, work as a team, collaborate, be self-motivated and have an exciting sense of creativity
  • Passion for social justice, education and health and well-being
  • Required to travel 75% of time between YGB branches, camps and child development centers located in Greater Boston and New Hampshire.
