As Managing Director, Teacher Leadership Development (MDTLD), you will help to build an unstoppable movement that ensures educational excellence for all. In regions throughout the country, MDTLDs like you lead staff members charged with ensuring that the students in corps members’ classrooms are on fundamentally different trajectories and that, as a result of that experience their corps members and other partners are inspired to become lifelong advocates for educational equity. Successful heads of TLD grow and develop exceptional new teachers who, along with their students, achieve outcomes that defy traditional expectations. At the same time, they also create vibrant communities of corps members, where our teachers feel valued, supported and committed each day to this hard but vital work.
As leader of a team of nine Managers, Teacher Leadership Development (MTLDs, or teacher coaches), you will inspire your team to internalize the possibility of achieving ambitious goals related to student outcomes, realize their potential to set students on a dramatically different life trajectory, and claim their role as leaders in the movement for educational equity. You deeply enjoy management, and are excited to achieve results through your team. You are ready to support your MTLDs to become the most effective coaches possible, breaking down barriers for their teachers and fostering a positive, inclusive culture as they do the intense work of making sure our teachers are reaching their full potential.
Managing Directors are leaders on their regional teams, ensuring that the region achieves its goals. You will also support the development and execution of critical efforts around diversity and inclusiveness for the team. As a member of the regional leadership team, you will contribute to the broader vision, culture, and team priorities of the region.
The Managing Director, TLD will report directly to the executive director, and will manage approximately 8-9 teacher coaches across Massachusetts.
