YMCA Training, Inc. seeks an Intake Specialist who is passionate about our mission to support low-income adults moving from poverty into thriving self-sufficiency. The position facilitates enrollment in our job skills training and employment program helping low-income, unemployed, and underemployed adults gain skills and move into skilled administrative support positions across multiple industries. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Intake Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, and enrollment of participants into four cycles of the Training, Inc. program each year. 

  • Develop and maintain recruitment and marketing campaign to ensure 100+ applicants for each training cycle.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key staff in referring and funding organizations.
  • Host information sessions for potential applicants twice/week.
    • Provide careful and timely assessment of each candidate to determine eligibility for the Training, Inc. program.
    • Interview candidates.
    • Guide candidates through the funding process.
    • Maintain excellent data and confidential recordkeeping system of applicants and funding sources.
    • Additional duties may include other program support as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelors’ degree highly preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • A passion for supporting people to prepare for their next career
  • Minimum one full year of professional or social service experience.
  • Case Management and Counseling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to respectfully interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills (including Word and Excel).
