The Human Rights Education Fellow is a 5 month, paid fellowship that aims to support educators within and outside of the Amnesty International network with tools to engage their students in innovative ways. Working on key campaigns and program areas, the Fellowship will focus on material development and distribution to support public awareness, engagement, and advocacy.
As a research, advocacy and campaign organization, Amnesty International works with hundreds of educators and students to engage them in human rights action; human rights education is at the center of this work to introduce human rights concepts to young people while inspiring them to act.
Fellows will channel their commitment to human rights and social justice, and apply their background in education into developing human rights education materials that will serve as resources for building a more engaged and aware membership. Fellows will use innovative tools to effectively engage youth on campuses and in communities across the country. They will develop learning modules that speak to various learning styles, and facilitate human rights education in youth-only spaces and beyond, and seek out new ways to make human rights education an important part of AIUSA’s campaign and organizing objectives.
