Teach For America – Massachusetts seeks a driven, outcomes-oriented leader to serve as the Director, Corps Member Recruitment and Onboarding on the School & Community Partnerships team. As member of the Greater Boston portfolio team, you will work with two other colleagues to ensure that we are fulfilling our commitment to supplying our school and district partners with a critical stream of talent.
In this role, you will own the work of matriculating, onboarding, and facilitating the hiring of our corps members throughout the Greater Boston sub-region, which includes Boston, Lynn, Chelsea, Salem, and Lawrence. You will also build resources and systems for other portfolios on the School & Community Partnerships team, accelerating our capacity state-wide. In addition to leading the critical work of the corps member hiring, you will also work to recruit a diverse population of applicants to the corps who represent our partner communities.
The School & Community Partnerships team is a newly formed function of the Massachusetts regional team. Deeply rooted in our strategy of meeting the talent needs of our partner schools and communities, this team works statewide to attract and retain talented educators for K-12 and district/CMO roles. With the support of your manager, you will set vision and direction for executing our Greater Boston corps member placement strategy, and collaborate with a team of colleagues doing similar work across the state.
The Director, Corps Member Recruitment and Onboarding reports to the Managing Director, Greater Boston Partnerships.
Corps Member Matriculation, Onboarding, and Hiring (55%)
- Manage and own the entire region’s corps member matriculation and onboarding process, working towards specific and ambitious goals to build our Gr. Boston cohort
- Design, lead, and execute the Gr. Boston corps member hiring process, ensuring all incoming corps members are prepared, licensed, and fully hired ahead of the school year
- Oversee our licensure exam support and tracking, and provide individualized support to corps members
- Create efficient hiring and onboarding resources and systems to be leveraged by the Western Mass. and South Coast sub-regions, and support them in implementation
- Lateral project management of a team Associate to complete tasks related to corps member workstreams
Corps Member Recruitment (35%)
- Partner with the recruitment team and local partners to identify and cultivate prospects to teach in Gr. Boston as corps members, with particular attention to prospects who are themselves from our partner communities

- Deep understanding of how schools operate, likely from prior experience working in schools in a teaching or operational support capacity.
- 4-7 years of experience preferred
- Teach For America alumni or current staff member preferred
- Deep ties or networks in Gr. Boston preferred

- Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM platforms is a plus
- Experience with Pardot, Constant Contact, or similar graphic design or print/online publishing platforms a plus
Work Demands
- Expectation that this staff member lives in the Greater Boston area
- Occasional evening or weekend availability required for events
- Occasional day travel to Western Mass. or the South Coast for team meetings and events (approx. 1 time/month)
- Position is scoped for 50-55 hours per week, with additional time during peak periods
