Located in downtown Boston, YMCA Training, Inc., a nationally recognized, non-profit job training and employment program, is seeking a full-time Instructor to provide custom service and computer skills training to help unemployed men and women build new careers.
Areas of Responsibility:
Instruction:
- Teach Administrative Support curriculum
- Teach and update Customer Service curriculum
- Teach MS Office using existing curriculum
- Evaluate student assignments and track progress
- Facilitate operation of simulated business office training
- Match and support students in appropriate internships
Customer Service Simulation:
- Facilitate operation of practice customer service call center
- Recruit, train and coordinate individuals volunteers and corporate groups to call in to practice call center
Other Duties:
- Facilitate focus groups with employers
- Provide additional support and counseling to 5-8 trainees per cycle
- Collect and update program data
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Experience in administrative support and customer service roles
- Experience teaching adult learners strongly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required, additional software/technical skills preferred
- Ability and commitment to work effectively and respectfully with a diverse, multi-cultural population
- Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality
