The Director of Development fosters the mission of the New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS) on behalf of animals in laboratories by leading the Development Department. The Director of Development will be responsible for reinvigorating NEAVS’ fundraising department through strategic assessment of opportunity, advising donor acquisition strategy, and managing implementation of NEAVS’ strategic investment in development. The Director of Development will report to the Executive Director.
Duties include:
- Develop and implement an analytical and goal-driven fundraising strategy
- Design and implement NEAVS’ donor acquisition strategy
- Implement strategy to secure and sustain bequest, major, and mid-level gifts
- Create and execute strategy to secure large base of individual donors
- Collaborate with the Communications Department, oversee organization of special events
- Manage all aspects of an efficient and effective development department
- Oversee management of NEAVS’ donor data management system
Qualifications:
- BA or equivalent experience required, MA (a plus)
- An entrepreneurial spirit and approach
- Five or more years of experience in development
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational, management, and relationship building skills
- Passion for NEAVS’ mission strongly desired
