The Y seeks a talented, organized professional to help advance the mission of the organization through the creation and delivery of clear and compelling communications. Ideal candidate should be an expert in the field of social media, experienced in video production and photography, have knowledge and direct experience in digital marketing and graphic design, and should be able to navigate Microsoft Windows programs with demonstrable experience in the Adobe Creative Suite and Windows Office products. Strong research skills are also important to understand evolving trends within the market and any leads which should be developed.

The ideal candidate is a natural communicator, articulate both in person and on paper. He/she will be painstaking about details and overseeing projects through from concept to completion.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Online Marketing Coordinator: 

  • Maintain online presence for YMCA of SPBC.
  • Responsible for implementing marketing strategies on all social media platforms.
  • Manage all social media outlets for the YMCA of SPBC which includes creating social media content calendar, handling customer interactions (responding to posts/messages), maintaining regular posts/content, and forwarding any issues to appropriate Director in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing YMCA social App including updating events, schedules, push notifications and communicating any requests/issues to Daxko rep.
  • Build and maintain online Blog presence. 

Website Content Coordinator

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the YMCA of SPBC website.
  • Ensure website content is accurate and consistently updated. Ensure content and images are professional, interactive and effective in communicating our services and programs.
  • Work with Program Directors to ensure local web pages are current and reflect consistency throughout the site as we communicate to multiple audiences.

Internal Marketing Design:

  • Maintain and update printed marketing materials, member communication pieces and templates including monthly/quarterly newsletters, program brochures, internal branch marketing pieces and promotions using in-house Graphic Design software.
  • Ensure program department compliance with established brand standard policies. 
  • Follow up bi-weekly/monthly with each department to ensure they are following brand standards and ensure messages are supportive of and consistent with marketing strategies.
  • Assist departments in creating marketing materials in order to ensure brand compliancy, as needed.

Email Marketing:

  • Responsible for coordinating all email marketing efforts for YMCA of SPBC.
  • Create, review and execute weekly/monthly e-newsletters.
  • Create appropriate email lists for e-newsletters working with branch Membership Directors. Email newsletters include (but not limited to) Y Happenings, Sports at a Glance, SEER communications and various other marketing promotions.

Photography/Videography:

  • Responsible for coordination and production of all video content (testimonials, demos, program features, etc.) for internal and external use.
  • Responsible for taking photos for use in print and digital marketing materialsincluding special events, program activities, head shots, etc.
  • Maintain photo/video library for YMCA of SPBC and serve as resource liaison.      

Public Relations:

  • Under supervision of Marketing Director, coordinate and facilitate Public Relations efforts for YMCA of SPBC.
  • Submit calendar listings for all events, programs, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Constantly seek opportunities for Y stories, program features, etc. related to the Y’s mission for submission to media.
  • Write and produce content such as press releases for regular submission to the media.
  • Calculate garnered impression results for tracking/analysis.
  • Form and maintain relationships with appropriate media producers, reporters, etc. and uphold database of key media contacts.
Educational Background: 
4 year college degree in Marketing and/or Public Relations
Skills/Experience: 
  • Expert in the field of social media
  • Experienced in video production and photography
  • Knowledge and direct experience in digital marketing and graphic design
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows programs with demonstrable experience in the Adobe Creative Suite and Windows Office products
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to understand evolving trends within the market
  • Great communicator - articulate verbally and on paper
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to oversee projects through from concept to completion
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $37,000.00 - $39,500.00
