This position, under the direction of the Director of Accounting, is responsible for all financial accounting transactions stemming from development and fundraising activities and will provide accounting and finance development support Association-wide along with responsibility for data administration, Annual Campaign Pledges and donations, special events, managing grant funds, invoices, cash receipts, and other special projects as may be assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages accounting functions for all donor pledges, including recording of pledges, invoicing, cash receipts, and month-end close reports
- Generates financial reports, as needed
- Serves as accounting point person for Annual Campaign
- Prepare and mail monthly billing statements
- Grant management, accounting and analysis
- Assist VP/CFO and Senior Accountant with special projects
- Comply with internal controls and best practices
- Provide information for auditors and other special projects
- Responsibility for donor systems and database management
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years of related experience
- A proven track record of academic and professional excellence
- Experienced and skilled in A/P, A/R and Collections
- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to provide accurate and timely information
- Excellent mathematical and computational skills
- Excellent computer skills – must have strong proficiency in Excel
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and through collaboration
- Ability to adhere to Fiscal policies and procedures
- Ability to adhere to GAAP
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
- Ability to apply strong problem solving techniques
- A strong sense of maturity and responsibility are required for this job.
- Must be open minded with a willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Must be a quick learner
- Ability to adapt, quickly, to a new environment
- Must be highly confidential
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting preferred
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $37,000.00 - $42,000.00
