The Strategist works closely with leadership to advance the Foundation’s strategic agenda, manage large/multiple projects, and support mission-critical initiatives. Bringing expertise in problem-solving, analysis, stakeholder management, and communication, the Strategist will facilitate strategic alignment and develop recommendations to support colleagues in making decisions that best support people with CF.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the development of the five-year organization-wide strategy with a focus on the future of the Foundation’s models to directly support and engage the CF community.
  • Lead and support high-priority, cross-functional initiatives (including project design, research and analytics, stakeholder management, and presentations to leadership).
  • Develop powerful recommendations based on an understanding of diverse stakeholders, including people with CF, caregivers, volunteers, donors, care team members, researchers, and staff.
  • Focus on initiatives to advance insight generation and learning such as developing organizational metrics and maturing approaches to evaluating impact.
  • Partner with and advise leadership in functional areas such as advocacy, community engagement, and fundraising on key topics (e.g., organization design, resource allocation and planning) on request.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the external environment to guide strategy and initiatives (informed by primary and secondary research on peer organizations, business frameworks, and operational best practices).
  • Support the Foundation in telling the “best story in medicine” to our team, board, and external stakeholders through developing compelling storylines and data visualizations.
Educational Background: 
MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field such as Nonprofit Management, Public Health, or Organizational Behavior required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a strategic consulting function, preferably at a top tier strategy consulting firm or a firm specializing in non-profits.
  • Experience with a distributed/network organizations preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills with ability to distill complex information into insights and intuitive visuals. Proficiency with market research a plus.
  • Excellent software skills (MS Office). Financial analysis, database and/or data visualization (Tableau) experience a plus.
  • Strong oral, facilitation, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; track record of leading work groups through tasks.
  • Self-starter; demonstrated ability to lead projects independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature.
  • No heavy lifting required.
  • Minimal travel (e.g., 2x/yr.) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.
