The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and one of the most innovative and successful organizations of its kind is seeking a Research Program Specialist to join our team in Bethesda, MD.
The Research Program Specialist will report to the Research Program Manager for the Success with Therapies Research Consortium. This position will provide central program coordination and support for the 3 main committees – Protocol Review, Publications and Presentations, Steering. He/she will be part of an integrated team interfacing with Investigators as well as the Study Management Core, the Data Management Core, and multiple CFF departments.
Working with the Research Program Manager will help to:
- Provide program support for daily operations of the central STRC systems including SharePoint, policies and procedures.
- Draft and disseminate consortium-wide communications including reports, presentations and documents for internal and external audiences.
- Serve as a liaison between consortium sites and the CFF, actively advising and consulting with co-chairs in planning discussions, and communicating with consortium members and other external stakeholders by phone, e-mail, and other venues.
- Support STRC committees including collaboration with co-chairs in meeting planning calls, identification of relevant materials from discussions with the STRC cores and CFF that would inform committee activities, develop materials for committee activities, and develop and distribute agenda and minutes.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person meeting logistics in conjunction with CFF meetings and IT staff.
- Create, update and maintain organization and tracking systems of identified projects and issues.
- Develop surveys to capture needed information using online tools such as Survey Monkey; analyze survey results and synthesize reports
- Lead content generation and facilitate the review process for the STRC newsletter.
- Communicate issues to supervisor and consortium co-chairs in a timely manner.
- Provide general administrative support including processing invoices and honorariums, and clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing.
- Contribute to the greater PSDC team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience supporting programmatic efforts in research, healthcare or public health.
- Knowledge of software applications (including database applications), and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & SharePoint); ability to quickly learn and utilize computer applications. Familiarity with database system, REDCap, is preferred.
