IT Project Manager is responsible for managing and executing IT strategic and tactical projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include creating project plans, managing conflicts, communicating status, and ensuring that tasks get completed on-time and in a quality manner. The Project Manager is responsible for cultivating an effective project management discipline within the organization through oversight, tools and processes, cadence, metrics, KPI's, reports that indicate the health of projects, facilitation of project meetings, capability building, and risk/issue escalation processes to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and realize objectives. This position also encompasses a business relationship manager (BRM) role intended to reduce business and IT barriers by acting as the IT liaison and providing technology guidance and addressing non-project related escalations.
- Develop and foster trusted relationships with sponsor representatives.
- Work with IT Director and senior managers to develop, create and/or manage project scopes, schedules, risks, resources and/or budgets.
- Lead projects and technical leads by providing guidance, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Communicate project status clearly and succinctly to senior management by delivering complex messages in business terms.
- Pro-actively identify potential project risk factors, communicate these to the project team, and work with stakeholders to address them.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive results in a service oriented and rapidly changing environment.
- Provide cadence, metrics, KPI's, reports that indicate the health of projects.
- Facilitation of project review meetings, capability building, and escalation processes of IT projects to ensure efficient, effective, and successful execution of the project plan.
- Work proactively and collaboratively with IT Director to ensure adequate staffing, funding, and resources are in place to reliably execute projects.
- Develop project plans including milestones and track budgets.
- Assemble and coordinate project teams.
- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Provide direction and support to project team.
- Coordinate with different team members across geographical locations.
- Communicate complex information effectively to team and clients.
- Comply with standard Change Management processes.
- Maintain and improve project management skills and abilities through continuing professional education and certifications.
- Execute and/or assist with the execution and remediation of IT Controls.
- Understands all business processes and provides technology guidance to ensure maximum return on investment (ROI) for IT business strategy.
- Addresses non-project related escalations (e.g. aged service desk tickets).
- 8+ years IT project management experience.
- Detailed understanding of project management methodologies.
- Expert level experience in a variety of project management tools (i.e. MS project, JIRA, Asana).
- Demonstrated documentation skill for project plans, budgets and requirements development.
- Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience implementing custom and vendor written applications.
- Solid writing skills, and superb spoken communications skills in English.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies.
- Assist other departments with selection, implementation, and integration of enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and relevant FDA regulations ensuring compliance and implementation throughout job duties.
- Knowledge of QA and UAT processes in advising internal customers with outside vendors.
- Strong work ethic.
- Understanding of general business, health care, and health coverage issues.
