Responsible for developing, managing and leveraging CFF’s Business Intelligence tools (currently SSRS, SSIS, Power BI and Jaspersoft) to collect, aggregate, analyze and provide information based on internal and external data sources, creating actionable information, and ensuring that internal constituents have the information necessary to make informed business decisions. 

Scope of work includes but is not limited to data analysis, reporting writing, data manipulation and integration, data warehouse management, technical support (implementation, configuration, administration, testing/troubleshooting and/or integration of various systems) and project management.

This position requires a solid understanding of relational databases, foundational knowledge of data warehousing, hands-on SQL programming experience, instinctive problem-solving mentality, experience conceptualizing and creating out-of-the-box solutions and supporting data integrations.   

Areas of Responsibility: 

Data Analysis/Reporting Development

  • Work with internal teams to identify measures and key performance indicators to support business objective and improve decision making processes.
  • Develop new dashboards, reports, mailing segmentations and analytics as needed.
  • Apply various quantitative methods to analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources as needed.
  • Support implemented BI solutions by addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.

Data Warehouse/Data Integration Management

  • Manage and/or participate in the following data warehouse and data management tasks:
  • Regularly review and monitor ETL processes across multiple applications/databases and validating results with business representatives.
  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot and debug ETL processes as needed.
  • Monitor and tune queries, store procedures, indexes and data loads.
  • Ensure queries/stored procedures are optimized and tables properly indexed.

Application/Project Support & Administration

  • Test, troubleshoot and implement new system functionality within various systems (including but not limited to CFF’s Business Intelligence platform, donor management/CRM, ERP solutions, and fundraising tools).
  • Engage in requirement’s gathering sessions, writing/reviewing SOPS and technical  specification documents and cross training of other data analysts/report developers.
  • Support Sr. Director of IT with special projects and other duties as needed.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor (4-year) degree required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals and 3-5 years hands-onSQL programming experience (including SQL functions, stored procedures, join techniques, SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements) a must.
  • 3-5 years hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) a must.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets, joining, deduping and scrubbing data from disparate systems.
  • Analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of various operational issues such as productivity and efficiency assessment, cost/benefit analysis, demographic and sales analysis for marketing initiatives…etc.
  • Ability to multi-task, tactfully solve problems of various nature and turn a conceptual idea into a functional and useful end product.
  • Strong problem solving skills. Ability to analyze, devise and implement improvements/solutions to business issues.
  • Detail oriented. Examine detail to ensure accuracy of work a must.
  • Must be well organized to manage multiple projects on varied subject matters to deadline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with various internal contacts when gathering information to develop databases/systems or streamline operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with SSAS, creating OLAP solutions, Microsoft SharePoint,Power BI and Tableau are a plus.
