he communications project manager works with internal and external partners, including technical, marketing, and medical members of our organization, to project manage communications efforts both for online and in-person programs and initiatives that complement and help further our mission.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, coordinates, and monitors scoping, scheduling, planning, and performance of communications initiatives.
- Negotiates and manages contracts, including resources and contractual requirements.
- Ensures adherence to plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, communicates project progress and milestones, and helps direct work of stakeholders assigned to a program from various departments.
- Project manages communications efforts for our annual medical conference including but not limited to, facilitating development of plenary presentations, coordinating external communications and multimedia, and facilitating communications onsite activities.
- Oversees content development for the Foundation’s website, cff.org.
- Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget by managing production schedules, tasks, and operations.
- Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Develops an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Creates templates and SOPs to operationalize key processes and best practices.
- Supports planning, development, and implementation of annual strategic planning and helps track progress on annual initiatives for the communications team.
- Reviews and evaluates the work of team members to ensure the highest standards of quality.
- Trains new employees on project management software and department workflow.
- Works closely with channel managers, writers, and subject matter experts.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum five to seven years of comparable level experience.
- Superior project management and time management skills.
- Understands online marketing related projects/concepts.
- Superior writer and oral communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- A confident communicator and presenter who can tailor communications to varied audiences.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.
- Gracefully handles diverse situations, complex projects, and shifting priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous organization.
- Familiarity and experience with project management software use and best practices.
- Learns quickly and assumes new responsibilities as priorities change.
- Collaborative problem-solver who can help the team adapt by conveying implications and provide options as priorities shift and projects change.
- Self-motivated with a positive, respectful and professional approach to management.
