Responsible for assisting DBAs, System Administrators and Data Analysts with the support of CFF’s Microsoft (MS) SQL-Server instances and related processes.  Scope of work includes, but is not limited to:  support of Great Plains (Dynamics), SQL/Server 2008-2016,  end-user support and training, application and database troubleshooting and testing, and Integration Services. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Administer and maintain support for software and servers; test, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Perform support roles for project components in support of larger technology efforts.
  • Create procedures, plans and documentation needed by DBA’s, Sys Admins and IT management to support applications.
  • Provide excellent customer service by providing transparency over tasks and follow-up and follow-through.
Educational Background: 
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience in writing system documentation including system specifications and/or requirements.
  • Regularly review and monitor ETL processes across multiple applications/databases and validating results with business representatives.
  • Design, code, test, troubleshoot and debug ETL processes as needed.
  • Monitor and tune queries, store procedures, indexes and data loads.
  • Ensure queries/stored procedures are optimized and table properly indexed.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • In-depth analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to find innovative solutions and improve our overall service delivery.
