The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and one of the most innovative and successful organizations of its kind – is seeking a Compass Regional Manager to join our Policy team.
We are a nonprofit, donor-supported organization that has raised and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to help develop cystic fibrosis therapies that have changed the lives of people with this disease. Nearly every CF medicine available today was made possible because of Foundation support.
Based in Bethesda, Md., the Foundation created, funds and accredits a national network of cystic fibrosis care centers that have been recognized by the National Institutes of Health as a model of care for a chronic disease
This position will be part of the management team that oversees day-to-day operations of CF Foundation Compass and contributes to the strategic direction of the program. Compass is a personalized service to help people with CF with insurance, financial, legal, or other issues. The position oversees the regional case management team, and responsibilities include all tasks of case management, trainer, auditor, customer service, and higher-level problem solving. Position requires collaboration with internal and external customers and knowledge to properly triage cases to the appropriate groups as needed. Participates in community outreach initiatives to strengthen relationships between Compass, chapters, care center staff, local programs and resources, and CF community. Serves as back-up to Assistant Director and other members of the Compassmanagement team as appropriate.
- A minimum of five years experience in a healthcare, pharmaceutical or contract research organization environment
- Background in insurance coverage and reimbursement
- Experience and knowledge of Federal and state assistance programs and their requirements
- Experience with co-pay foundations and patient assistance programs
- Experience conducting benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and appeals
- Experience with developing educational templates, cheat sheets, and resources for providers and patients.
- At least two years of supervisory or mentorship experience required
