Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a highly regarded voluntary health service organization, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist for our headquarters office conveniently located in downtown Bethesda, Maryland.
Under supervision, the candidate will perform basic accounts payable functions such as requisition processing, check request processing, keying vouchers, expense reimbursements, matching and batching checks and filing, vendor maintenance, 1099 processing, provide excellent customer service, and any new processes or procedure changes.
Areas of Responsibility:
- The specialist must be able to properly code check requests and identify any missing items that are deemed necessary for its satisfactory completion (ensure vouchers are properly authorized and approved, ensure invoices are attached).
- Process requisitions and expense sheets using My Workplace. The specialist must be able to properly review coding and identify and missing items that are deemed necessary for its satisfactory completion (ensure vouchers are properly authorized and approved, ensure invoices are attached).
- Place calls to vendors and/or chapter or HQ personnel to explain questionable items or to request missing items. By doing this, the specialist must be able to communicate clearly what is being requested.
- Key vouchers into Dynamics GP. Specialist must be able to accurately key vouchers into Dynamics GP and reclassify or adjust vouchers and transactions, as needed.
- Specialist must be able to complete journal entries to reclassify expenses when necessary.
- Match checks and EFT payment batches to the appropriate supporting documentation. Tasks must be performed accurately and completely for all payment requests.
- Prepare batches for all checks that have been cut in preparation for review by the AP Manager. And prepare checks for mailing.
- Complete a payment inquiry on any given vendor
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience:
- Experience in accounts payable processing is necessary (2+ years preferred)
- Attention to detail, high work ethic required, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) while providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-past, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and 10-key touch
- 1099-Miscellaneous knowledge
- Microsoft Dynamics experience, and Paramount Workplace experience (a plus)
