Responsibilities for this Position:
- Maintain awareness of Association activities to evaluate potential legal and risk management exposures
- Identify loss trends and investigate serious claims
- Communicate regularly with operations staff on insurance, safety and loss control matters
- Collaborates with Human Resources and Workers Compensation carrier to review incidents and claims and implement mitigation strategies, manages day-to-day member/participant insurance claims, works with branches and insurance companies to secure and process documentation for efficient claim processing
- Review insurance and indemnity requirements for third parties
- Review and monitor insurance criteria for independent contractors and collaborations with third parties
- Lead risk management trainings and advise Association-wide groups relating to employee safety, aquatics safety, transportation, child abuse prevention, AEDs, camping and other program areas as needed
- Update and monitor Illness & Injury Prevention, Blood-Borne Pathogen and Hazard Communication plans
- Perform routine audits
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures related to risk
- Support the driver and vehicle safety program, including auditing branch programs and providing trainings and resources to the branch transportation coordinators to support their efforts towards a successful vehicle safety program

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years or more of relevant work experience (risk management, related insurance experience, etc.)

- High level of computer literacy in the Microsoft suite
