Under the supervision of the CEO, the Branch Executive Director will manage and maintain the total operation of a YMCA branch. This includes but is not limited to marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, fundraising, and community relationships and collaborations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Coordinate the development of the branch advisory committee and other related committees.
- Direct the volunteer activities of the branch.
- Direct the financial development activities of the branch.
- Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develop, maintain, and model collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Oversee the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the branch operating budget and meet or exceed budget targets.
- Direct branch strategic planning efforts and develop the annual operating plan of the branch.
- Develop and direct high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
- Foster a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Recruit volunteers for and lead the branch in the Annual Giving Campaign in addition to the staff campaign. Create and maintain relationships with community organizations to communicate the Y mission and goals and attract donors.
- In conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Director, direct branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
- Ensure that staff and volunteers obtain and maintain required clearance, certifications, and trainings as stipulated by law and YMCA of Centre County policy. Comply with all HR policies.
- Serves as a member of the Y corporate management team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business, or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a YMCA leadership role.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
Required Certifications
- YMCA Multi-team or Branch leader certification preferred.
- Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training within the first 90 days of employment and every 3years thereafter.
- Mandated Reporter training within the first 90 days of employment and every 5 years thereafter.
Compensation/Benefits:
$50,000.00 - $56,000.00
