CEO

This job is no longer available

Belfast, ME, USA
Full-time

The Waldo County YMCA first formed in 1977 and operated as a “Y without walls” for 22 years. In 1998, after years of careful planning, the Board of Directors initiated a capital campaign to raise funds to build a Y facility, which opened in February 2001. The facility originally included a full gymnasium, walking track, community rooms, wellness and fitness rooms. The Y celebrated the official opening of the Tom & Sally Savage Pool Complex in 2009, after community donors and contributors donated nearly $4.2 million to the pool complex campaign.

The Y today has 4,200 members and offers programs for all ages and abilities and is a cornerstone of the Belfast community. Its collaborative community efforts are evident in the many Y programs sponsored by or partnered with over 40 local, state, and national organizations. The Y’s staff and volunteers are passionate about strengthening Waldo County through its many services in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

After many years leading the organization, its long-time CEO is retiring, and so the Y is launching a search to identify its next cause-driven leader who will continue the incredible legacy of this Y and take it into the next generation.
