Teach For America-South Louisiana seeks a Director of District & School Partnerships to maximize the impact of our corps member and alumni talent in ways that accelerate student achievement within the Capital Region. The Director of District & School Partnerships will develop and lead an impact strategy that fosters stronger collaboration and alignment between Teach For America and our partners.
The Director of District & School Partnerships forms close, working relationships with district and school senior-level leaders including superintendents, principals and mid-level leaders to develop a coherent long-term strategy for corps members and alumni within those partnerships. Internally, the Director of District & School Partnerships translates corps member impact and experience in schools to programmatic teams, increasing our ability to shape our program in ways that meet student needs.
The ideal candidate for this role thrives on building relationships across institutions, forms strategic partnerships and strengthens current relationships, aligning constantly to Teach For America’s theory of change and the needs of our partners.
Impact Strategy Development & Execution (45%)
- Through partnership with schools and districts, develop an impact strategy for corps member and alumni talent that is aligned to both Teach For America’s theory of change and the vision of our partners.
- Communicate our impact strategy in compelling and coherent ways to school and district partners, corps members and alumni.
- Create and manage the execution of a placement plan aligned to the impact strategy, fostering a strong match between corps member strengths and interests and school and district needs.
Cross-Functional Learning and Innovation (45%)
- Leverage learning and innovation across districts and schools through formal and informal convenings, sharing observed best practices and resources with our partners.
- Collaborate with regional team members to foster alignment and ensure that our programmatic strategy evolves to meet the needs of students in the schools and districts we serve.
- Synthesize the corps member and alumni experience in districts and schools, sharing feedback with partners towards shared goals of student impact and teacher support.
- Work in partnership with our Director of Alumni Impact to align on opportunities within schools and districts that are a match for our alumni educators.
- Partner with the Development team to secure district and school support and track commitments and invoices in Salesforce.

- Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with a variety of stakeholders to reach successful outcomes.
- Previous experience with Teach For America, Louisiana schools, and/or Louisiana-based organizations is preferred but not required.
- 4-6 years of professional work experience is preferred.
