Do you love helping people meet their goals and want to be on the team of a cause-driven, wellness focused organization? As the Health and Well-being Director, you will organize, monitor, supervise, and maintain health and well-being programs.

If hired for this position you will provide an impactful member experience by developing, coordinating, providing administrative support and ensure program coverage for the department at the branch. You will also supervise department staff and their functions to ensure quality programs, including group fitness, active older adult, fitness floor, adult programming, aquatic wellness and membership satisfaction. 

In this position you will assist in managing the day to day operations of the Health and Well-being department, including payroll. You will maintain quality programming and creating an excellent member experience by building authentic relationships that engage, inspire and build commitment to the Y cause.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Make great decisions:

  • Compile program statistics.  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Track hourly usage to ensure the department has enough staff for safety.
  • Manage and implement the approved program budget.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct.  Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment by keeping supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.
  • Recommend adjustments and administer the budget, exercising necessary expense controls and revenue production

Provide quality results by:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate programs, activities, and events. 
  • Maintain, enhance and develop collaborative relationships with area like-minded agencies.
  • Create, schedule health and well-being classes.
  • Establish new program activities and expand program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Review and meet organizational long-range planning goals. 

Be Influential:

  • Confidently lead members through health and well-being programs while demonstrating current safety guidelines to assist in improving the four components of fitness; flexibility, strength, muscular endurance, and cardio-respiratory conditioning.
  • Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Incorporate storytelling in an effort to advance our mission and cause.

Build Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Identify and develop small groups and activities.
  • Assist members with fitness goals through motivation, instruction, and support.
Educational Background: 
I have a Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have Knowledge of current health and well-being safety and program standards, latest trends in the industry and the ability to articulate and incorporate them.
  • I have current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
  • I am able to set an excellent example in health, fitness and member service.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,000.00 - $40,000.00
