This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Marketing and Development Director works closely with the Marketing Coordinator and Fund Development Coordinator. This position builds the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact through project management of social media, website communications, and digital analytics including brand compliance, copy writing, and editing. In addition, this position supports the Annual Campaign and fundraising.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under direction of the Senior Director of Member Engagement, the Marketing and Development Director is responsible for managing and implementing marketing strategies for web, social media, electronic/digital ads, and some print, as well as some design, in accordance with the Y’s brand guidelines, to advance the Y’s mission and member engagement.
  • Develops strategies that drive our fundraising and marketing & communications efforts, monitoring progress and ensuring proactive adjustments to achieve goals.
  • Manage social media communications including current platforms, and assessment and implementation of new platforms.
  • Develop tools to measure and analyze data on website usage (e.g. Google Analytics), social media engagement, the success of email campaigns and other forms of marketing. Work with marketing staff to incorporate data into communications plans and strategies.
  • Coordinate website content, including events, story/blog updates and creative banners with print and social media messages.
  • Schedules push notifications, set up fitness challenges, and maintains other Y app features to encourage member engagement.
  • Develops, monitors and administers assigned annual budget and maintains a positive fiscal position.
  • Assists Marketing Coordinator to promote and communicate the objectives and programs of the YMCA through press releases and media relations.
  • Assists Marketing Coordinator to maintain a marketing/event calendar, design and create 7 program guides annually, and monitor internal/external signage.
  • Participate in Annual Campaign fundraising and targeted marketing, and is actively involved in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects in coordination with the Fund Development Coordinator.
  • Participate in branch special events for fundraising or mission advancement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, advertising, or related field,
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum 3-5 years equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with standard business software; HTML and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite desired.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, organization skills, interpersonal skills, and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.
  • Successful completion of background check; First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications obtained within first 30 days of employment and then maintained throughout employment.
Compensation/Benefits: 

 

Hourly: $16.00 - $18.00
