Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the repair and maintenance around the facility including fitness equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical. This candidate will also supervise the custodial staff as well as oversee the grounds upkeep. Overseeing the maintenance and chemical readings of the pool is also key to the position.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide overall coordination of facility maintenance, developing and completing preventative maintenance plans.
  • Have basic knowledge to ensure the proper operation of all mechanical systems including indoor pool, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Supervise the janitorial staff to ensure the cleaning needs of the facility are met with exceptional care.
  • Complete work orders and projects in a timely manner.
  • Request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors. Oversee all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.
  • Work with outside agencies such as fire, health, and building departments to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Ensure that assigned vehicles and other equipment are maintained and operate in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA and local governing agencies.
Educational Background: 
The Facilities Manager should have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency.
Skills/Experience: 
  • He/she should be able to demonstrate general maintenance and repair skills in plumbing, electrical and mechanical techniques.
  • The candidate should demonstrate personal leadership ability.
  • Technical understanding of facility drawings and knowledge of pool chemicals and maintenance is preferred.
  • Must be willing to receive a Certified Pool Operator's certificate within the first 3 months of hire.
  • Must have general computer knowledge including Outlook, Excel, Word and other software.
